Investment Roadmap to COP26

Engage with governments, investors, business and civil society to mobilise climate finance and solutions in green investments to reach 2030 climate targets and support the net-zero transition.

Where institutional investors choose to invest now will have vast consequences for achieving the Paris Agreement and the SDGs. That’s why I welcome the efforts of the Climate Investment Coalition and the pledge from the Danish pension funds in 2019 to invest USD 50 billion in climate solutions before 2030, of which USD 8 billion have already been invested.

The challenges of climate change are to be recognized as this generation’s moon landing – if not even more comprehensive. We need to prove that the green transition is also a sustainable business case so that many other countries realize the need for a different scale of private investments in sustainable development. That fact obligates large private investors like us to spearhead the efforts for green transition – not only in Denmark, but through investments in Europe and rest of the world.
